its monday the 14th of March and my paycheck still hasn't been deposited in my bank account. i wouldn't mind so much as there is nothing that i really need to buy, but i do need to pay the gas bill. i've never been late paying a bill before...the laziness of my boss (who didn't even give me the paycheck until 2 weeks late) is causing my non-existent credit record (because i dont have any credit cards) to turn into a bad credit record because i'll be late paying the bill.
oh well. i suppose life will continue. millions (billions?!) of americans thrive on bad credit records. i have nothing to fear. if it gets that bad, i'll just move to another country again.
today i have to attend class to learn about asmat material culture. while this sounds interesting, i'm already annoyed about this one particular girl. she likes to attack other peoples faults/beliefs/statements. (i dont like mean people). and she does this by spouting off crap about how its morally wrong to call another society 'primitive' and things like that. well, i'm not sure that i dont agree with that, but i seriously disagree with her in general because she doens't even know what she thinks about this whole 'primitivism' crap. she certainly hasn't thought about it herself. she only knows how to spout off contemporary popular scholarly opinion on such subjects. sometimes almost regergitating word for word what some dude that wrote some book in the library said about it last week.
this is her coping method i think. its very hard to unintelligent (but honestly seraching) undergraduates to formulate a comprehensive arguement against all of the respected scholars in the field. the worst part is that everyone probably agrees with her, but she just begins attacking people when they suggest that maybe 'primitive' isn't so bad if you define how you are using it first and understand that its just an arbitrary label that may refer to images that are created for ritualistic purposes that are related to a society's view of what is primal or ancestral. so naturally, when attacked for little reason, one reacts back to it.
i think she just feels really threatened by all of the independant thought happening in that class, so she needs to reaffirm the absolute truth of her belief systems.
alright then, i'll just go and strap on my shield, grab my sword and prepare to protect the innocents. down with self-righteousness!

Really? Oh. Somehow, teasing you about wearing a dress no longer seems fun now that you have admitted you would do it
