Yesterday, while heading to court, the vehicle I was driving was struck by a driver who illegally ran a stop sign. Although I was not seriously injured, I received a mild concussion, a sprained wrist, and am experiencing an extreme shooting pain in my back. My new 2004 VW Jetta was destroyed. Luckily the other driver was also not seriously injured and there were no passengers in either vehicle.
When my car collided, the airbags deployed and the safety equipment did its job. In the crash, the gas tank of the other vehicle was ripped away and the two left side wheels were sheered off. This was a T-Bone accident. Fortunately, the other vehicle was a diesel, which is a lot less flammable than gas, otherwise I am certain we would have both been killed
in the collision and the fire that followed.
I am for the most part okay, but am very sore and wobbly on my feet. The ER doctor says this is normal and that I will completely recover.
