So, 3 weekends ago I attended the world championship of fighting games, EVO as it's called, in Las Vegas. It was an experience I'll never forget! Not just for the amazing competition and incredible comebacks, etc. Also for the sheer lack of intolerance for differences in creed, race, sex.. you name it.
I've been to a lot of "common interest" conventions in my life, but I have never felt the sense of camaraderie, acceptance, and overall brotherhood that I did those 3 days in Vegas. I met people from all over: Europe, South America, Asia, and even a couple of guys from Yemen! Yet, no national origin or anything else phased anyone, simply the statement "Get good, or get wrecked".
So next time when someone tells you, "Video Games make people hateful and violent", believe me when I say that I've seen the opposite in overwhelming action.
