i picked up some very cool stamps at the convention yesterday, i have never seen so many middle-aged women in one place before. omigosh it was seriously scary. i think i was the only male under 50 there. hehe. i picked up some stationary and some stamps that look like old antique pictures and an ink pad in a color described as "espresso". OO and there was a scotsman in one of the booths....i LOOOOOVE scottish accents. damn. i wanted to pay him just so that he would tell me stories about scotland. oh well.
then after the stamping-madness my mom, dad, and i went off to my aunt ella mae's house who has lost a lot of weight and also managed to remodel her house. after showing me pictures of their alaskan adventure we headed out to OUTBACK steakhouse for um well.....steak.
then as i said my goodbyes my mom took me aside and laid it to me straight. she admitted to holding a huge grudge against me and for having no idea how to come to grips with how different we are. it was hard to hear but i'm glad i remained civil. i apologized for my past mistakes but reasserted that this is MY life and that i'm not going to lie about it any more. all in all it was good times. then we hugged and i cried. yes. i cried. god it felt good.
then i headed back to jon and jess' to jam with jon and joran on sax and flute and piano. good times. joran shared his pot which was a welcome relief and i drank a couple guiness extra stouts.
and nothing finishes off a day like the muppet show with mark hamill as a guest star.
