Hey SGLand! I decided to write this blog because for coincidence this month I started the process of restoration of the two most important books from my childhood, they are books with classic tales, some international and some brazilian ones.
My great-aunt used to read them for me when I was 4 ou 5 years old.
They don’t actually have a name, they are all called just “Fantasy” and they are DESTROYED! They were full of scotch tape that someone used to fix the book cover to the rest of it.
Now I’m a grown up girl, I graduated at conservation and restoration and started the process of restoring them, and it may take a while…
My favorite stories from these books are “Mindinha” (the translation is Little girl, maybe?)because I used to look like her so much, Pinocchio and Rumpelstiltskin. The book covers show "Mindinha" and the "Wizard of Oz" tales.
When I was 18 my grat-aunt gave these books to my aunt and I was SO MAD because she doesn’t take care of books and they would go to trash really soon so I made a war and could keep these two from the collection of 4 or 5. Big step actually! I hope I can restore them soon and then I show you the results and maybe one day I’ll read them to my child too!
