I live in a contry town in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and sometimes it seems that we are in a big city, and sometimes it seems that we are far from civilization. Somethings are normal for us, but everyone who visits us finds it weird.
1. If we have problems in the city, nobody calls the city hall, we call the radio. Basically everything that happens and all the news, however futile, is broadcast on the radio and absolutely everyone here hears it! Some people call the radio to send kisses to themselves, or the "truck horn" that is a sound that the broadcaster puts in the air at random times for those who want to hear. Like, “I’d like to send a kiss for Ragmig and a truck horn! Beep! Beep!
2. We also had the Radio Scavenger Hunt, where the city was divided into 5 teams, the whole city came together for a big event!
3. Every year there is the Caravaggio peregrination, which is a walking to a sanctuary, but it is cultural to go there eating tangerines and manuring the way with the peel, so it became the “tangerine trail”. In the Caravaggio Sanctuary has the crooked bars of the church window. They say they bent when a demon left after an exorcism! (The pic says: “deliver us from evil”)
4. The landscapes around the train tracks are beautiful! But ... there is no train
5. There are so many holes in the road around here that some locals have taken pictures pretending to be fishing on them! (And we don’t say road, we say Tarmac)
6. It's 2 degrees in the morning, 30 degrees in the afternoon, -1 at night, so we leave with enough clothes to take a trip. There is fog every day, we live in Silent Hill (this pic was taken in November, it was summer)
7. We have a museum with our own Anabelle Doll! Nobody comes near her because she watches us.
8. We have a bus that goes from the neighborhood to downtown, and one that goes from downtown to the neighborhood. And this is it! There is almost no uber here, maybe 2 for the whole city.
I think here is the best place ever to live, I love living here and maybe I won’t leave until I can move to another country! Thanks for reading so far!
