Prepping for my first ever crafts show this weekend so wanted to share my latest endeavor in crafting. I am taking lake superior agates that I personally find and making them into mushroom fairy lights. This combines 3 of my passions: agates, mushrooms, and nature. Each one takes about 4 days to complete and no two can EVER be the same. I hope the public likes them as much as I have loved making them.

When you are supposed to be sleeping because you work night shift but your buddy just happens to message you about going on a spur of the moment random adventure...it is really hard to say NO! It is even harder to say NO when random adventures fuel your soul and that randomness includes the Minnesota North Shore (my happy place). The sacrifice of my sleep was well worth it to get a much needed soul recharge and see something I have never experienced on the North Shore before. It was cold, windy, and wet as the storms blew through tonight. 25mph winds created waves over 8ft tall. I'd have to say that it was only fitting for the weather to be as it was for the memorial lighting of Split Rock Lighthouse in memory of the sinking of Edmund Fitzgerald and the loss of her entire crew of 29 men on Lake Superior November 10, 1975 during a nasty November gale.

I had so much fun doing this photoshoot! What started as a joke with a photographer quickly became a reality because sooo many people wanted to see it happen. Who am I to deny them what they want?

I love foraging for as much food as I can possibly source from nature and because of that I have been patiently waiting all winter for the frozen forests to spring back to life. Yesterday a had a few minutes free to go check a few spots. I was very happy to find that 2 of my favorite spring foraging items are starting to emerge. The first pic is of baby ramps (wild onions that have a slight garlic taste) and the second is a very tiny morel mushroom. Couple more weeks and my fridge and belly will be full of Nature's bounty!

I got the privilege of participating in a beard competition a couple weeks ago. I broke out all my Viking gear and did battle with many great beard. In the end, I came home with the award for Best Beard in Town and I took 1st place in the Partial Beard category!

Congrats on the recognition.

Had the day off so I decided to do some arts and crafts. I re-purposed some random thrift store finds and used some of the random things from my various collection to create these. Oh, and yes, that is a real bat in the first one.

Getting ready for the greatest holiday and the only one worth celebrating. Decided to create a cosplay based off of an undead druid (Siabrae) from D&D.
