I finally saw the new Bond flick last nite and I thought it was pretty good. I think I liked it more than the first Daniel Craig movie, which says a lot because I thought that was pretty rad too. I just don't remember right now those scenes that are supposed to be a stretch, to add suspense and because it is afterall just a movie... but then you often find them just too unbelievable and they can kinda ruin it you know. In Quantam of Solace there's this boat scene where Bond rescues this girl off a Bolivian general's boat with like 15 guys, some of whom go after him with speedboats and machine guns, and he's using his handgun and this shitty little boat to fuck everybody up. They would have done better without that scene, I'm just saying.

Happy drug appreciation day!
Oh, and Manko and some of the new girls made the trickle of new sets worth it.
I prefer QoS to Casino Royale. I mark it up to the fact I've read the book and they changed too much for my liking. Quantum of Solace is the name of a short story but has nothing to do with the movie. I had no expectations. But Craig is becoming one of the best Bonds. Reading the books I always thought of George Lazenby (On Her Majesty's Secret Service, his one film) because he fit. Craig is becoming that guy too. What got me more than his boat in the scene mentioned is not so much the chase itself but how everyone (but Bond) has automatic weapons but is hitting nothing. It was the same with the opening sequence. Craig's movies are better with their intimate fights, the one on one feats of strength. It was weird that the Bond group here on the site never even started a thread to discuss the movie.
Stay positive and enjoy the holidays. I leave town Friday to see family and am hoping for the best.
