hey kids. breaking news... 8 dispenseries were raided by the DEA yesterday in LA. I'm going over to the ASA office right now to help them with calling members and getting people out to protest. whenever we have any DEA raids, there is always a protest outside city hall the next day at noon. not everyone knows this, hence the phonecalls. yeah, those effin' bastards.
anyway on a brighter note, life has been a bit nicer than usual. weekend was pretty fun. I went to a show here in oakland at a great venue I didn't know about, and it's pretty close to my place. took my camera out there. for the first time, for a new film based project I'm doing on bands and pop culture in the bay area. I read a fantastic book on toning not too long ago and it''s inspired me to get back in the darkroom. oh, and I met a cutie hawwt hawwt...
last nite the North Beach jazz festival started and I heard some great stuff. funny I never put together that the Grant and Green streets in NB are named after the famous jazz guitarist Grant Green. I saw his name on one the cards with the bands scheduled and it just dawned on me. I moved to NB 5 years ago! and I've been to this thing like three times and it always starts at the bars around the Grant and Green intersection. man, my head is messed up. that I admit, but I won't blame it on the ganj though... Don't fucking do that!!! It's such a shame how stoners perpetuate negative stereotypes. well, discussion for a later date. I must be going now. Blessed...
