i found her.... i found the woman who got me into hairdressing... the girl that got me into school... the girl who made my life!!!!!!

her name is Mandy Farber and i have been looking for her for YEARS!
she found me when i was working for hot topic in holyoke and demanded that i go to her salon to talk to her.... so i did... and i loved her... and i loved hair....she taught me everything i know and pushed me to be better than what i thought i could be.... and then.... i moved to boston....and i lost all contact with her.... i came back to visit my family after 6 or 7 months and her salon was gone.... i had no way to contact her... and could only remember her first and "FAR" of her last name so i looked.... for years...i had found her old salon with address and number but that was gone and out of order... i found that 2 years ago... then last week.... as i was doing more of my searches on every website possible i came across this old westfield sports club web site that had her old salon info under the "place to go" section.... it was all stuff i knew except they had her full name!
I was so excited that i had her full name so i googled 'how to find a person' and came across a bunch of web sites like yellow pages and shit... well i saw this free one so i put her full name in and i got more info... i was able to get her relatives names and a bunch of old addresses .... but no phone number or email or anything....

so i looked on AOL to see if you could search a full name to find an email address and i couldn't find it... i really put my head in stalker mode.... i searched my ass off .... but then i saw another site... that can find cell phone numbers and shit.... so i put her full name in there and i saw the towns and they looked consistant and so i paid the $14 bucks to get the info... just hoping that i could get the right one...

well i got 3 pages of Mandy Farbers and i called every one of them. most were numbers that were no longer in service and then i came to this one. and it turned out to be her parents house.i asked if mandy farber was there and told a little bit about why i was calling and then the woman said THAT'S MY DAUGHTER!!! and i started balling! so many years.... of never being able to say thank you for everything she has ever done for me and tell her that she is such an incredible person and how grateful i was to have had her in my life ... and now i was one step away from talking to her... so the mother was so excited and gave me the phone number to her new salon... and i called it...a girl answers ... i ask to speak with mandy farber and she says that i am talking with her... and i asked her if she remembers Courtney.... she started crying and telling me how much she missed me and how she thinks about me everyday... and it was just the most amazing conversation i have ever had.
i was able to finally tell her how much of an inspiration she has been for me... and after all the tears and giving a brief description of how we are doing... she tells me... "Courtney.... you have to work for me ... a couple days a week... please.... and i'm opening a school.... you have to teach there a couple days a week...please.... i will make your commute worth it" i told her that she didn't even need to tell me that... because i would in a heart beat... but then i told her about my carpal tunnel and tendonitis and she said that she had it and went to a massage therapist and it cured her... and that she would do anything to get me back into what i was before.


I'm so fucking happy right now... i have felt so shitty for so long not knowing if this was something i was meant to do ... i started looking at other careers and she just validated the fact that i'm suposed to do hair.

if anyone saw me now... since i have been out of work... you would never know that i do hair... you would never guess that i make people look better....ugh... i need her.. and i can't tell you guys enough how fucking happy i am to have her back in my life! so i just got off the phone with her and i needed to tell everyone.... so.. instead of calling everyone ... i figure this is way better!
