Finally got a break from the crazy work-stream of this week yesterday. Went to my girl's college friend's birthday which was at Brooklyn Farms, a spacious bar on Flatbush.
Got nice with a couple of dark & stormys then beer...very accomplished 30s-ish crowd...my girl AC was Harvard so lot of lawyers, writers, editors...bunch of people who work for the NY Times because the birthday boy writes a blog for them. His last birthday party was like this too, last year AC & I met a group of people who put together all these fundraisers & get-togethers supporting the Obama campaign & through them we were able to do enough so we felt a part of history once the election happened.
Some single female friends & acquaintances were talking & joking about their very serious quest to get boyfriends. I was glad to pay them a little attention...J, a Chinese-American lawyer, was looking for a "logical" guy and her Korean-born colleague G (they were both dressed to kill) was looking for someone artistic/sensitive. Later on AC said hey, RADmonkey's both of those!...ah, if only I was smooth enough to take that remark and run with it, fulfilling the dream of guys everywhere... and we all went out for dinner at Moim, a refined Korean place here in Park Slope. AC
It was practically a perfect evening...we got home just in time to catch Mad Men. My early drinks lulled me into bed at a decent hour without a significant hangover, though my sleep was less than perfect. But this morning I woke up at 6am spontaneously and went to the Aikido dojo for some misogi (intense Shinto chanting), suburi (practice sword strikes) and zazen (zen sitting meditation).
So, back to work. But the evening left me with a frisky feelin'...

I've been lazy about the pics but since we went to a lot of the same places we've been before the pics pretty much look the same. I have pics from our last trip to Japan in one of the SG folders. I will be putting some up of this trip eventually... When I can get off my ass and look through them for new stuff.
I can't wait to go back already. But, like I said before, next time without all the teens.
I had never thought of taking pics of my food... I'll have to remember that!
