unh...it's a full time job just figuring out when to do all the things I gotta do. But I'm liking the hard work, just a little financially stressed.
Today I sat with a woman from Rwanda and typed out her translation of footage of an important and interesting woman who's a spokeswoman for refugees from Congo. This is for a documentary someone else is directing aimed for public TV.
Yeah, and I sat down with an accomplished editor Tuesday who gave me some great ideas to make my cut better. Basically the documentary is very close to finished, the main story is really compelling but the beginning and ending need some retooling. I'm still doing all the work but getting some specific ways to reshape the beginning (beginnings of films are often the hardest part to edit) is a big help, and makes getting the film out there by summer doable.
Meanwhile the cherry tree on my porch is blooming...there's some video of it from last year on my profile or blog somewhere...
I like having as much images in my blogs as possible, and I've got a year of catching up to do, so here's a project I did for Photoshop class. It's supposed to be a surrealist or cubist self-portrait. I wanted to make a really interesting cubist piece cutting my pics apart in interesting fragments, but I didn't figure out an efficient way to do that without having to create a bazillion layers. So what I did was more like a surrealist piece if anything. Not really thrilled with it but somehow it conveys how I feel a lot of the time at least in its chaotic vertical pileup...
