Hello Everyone!
Another busy weekend! Kathy and I did the Walk for the Cure in DC yesterday morning...it was great! We met lots of cool people...so many, so young who've had to battle not just breast cancer, but so many forms of the disease. I was so proud of Kathy when she was walking in the parade of pink with all of the other survivors present. The Post said that there was about 45,000 people out for the event yesterday, and I could have sworn there were many more than that.
Afterwards we took in a local festival in Herndon, Va which is always a fave of ours. It's always a cool mix of musical acts performing on their three different stages. But GOD was it bloody hot! Despite the fact that I slathered myself with sunblock, I managed to acquire sunburn on both knees, the right side of my face and my along my right arm and elbow. OUCH! At least now I have a base to build on for the rest of the summer in preparation for my cruise to Bermuda in September. I will probably still hit the tanning salon during the month before just to be safe. My delicate skin apparently warrants the extra attention...LOL!
Kathy and I also went out to dinner to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, Anita's, and enjoyed ourselves. I went with Kathy to her work where she had to put in a couple of hours of overtime. We finally managed to get home about 10:00 pm, watched some of our recorded programs from the week past and sacked out.
Today, I am at The Globe spinning some tunes and chatting with the peeps. I am about to do a break out of John Mayer into U2, so I must be off. Hope everyone has a great week! Ciao! Rich
PS - The two bands we saw at the Herndon festival were Fools and Horses, and Hero Pattern. Both very good...check them out if you get the chance. There were other bands to follow, but it was just too damn hot! Besides, I did enough damage to myself seeing those two. Seeya!
