THANK YOU, EVERYONE!! for the fabulous birthday wishes. I truly am not worthy. All of you rock, SO hard. Thank you again!!!
OK, down to business. New week, new tarot deck. This week's deck is Tarot of a Moon Garden. And the card for today is:
The Star. "Divinatory Meanings: Hope. Faith. Inspiration. Bright prospects. Mixing of the past and present. Optimism. Insight. Good omen. Spiritual love. Astrological influence. Fulfillment. Pleasure. The proper balancing of desire and work, hope and effort, love and expression."
I had a really nice birthday. We went to a garage sale across the street from Mom's, and also to the thrift shop. We watched Bugsy Malone (which Byron hadn't seen yet) and had an excellent dinner of some gourmet-type food that you order from this place in those boil-in-a-bag things. Mom wasn't crazy about it, but I thought it was fine. She and I had salmon ravioli, because for some reason she got fixated on the idea of having salmon ravioli after I told her we had had some in Amsterdam. Wasn't near as good as what we had there, but I still enjoyed it. Then I danced, and we drank kaluha. It was great. Byron gave me a couple bellydance CD's, and Mom got me the beeswax votive candles I asked for (I had a hard time coming up with something when she asked me what I wanted! I don't really "want" stuff anymore). Oh, and Mom also gave me $45 - she always does this on my birthday, I get $1 for each year of my age and "one to grow on." Mothers...
It's going to be an interesting 2 weeks until we head out to SLC. Tonight we're going to see American Splendor. I have to get one of the CV boots replaced on my car. The 12th we're going to see Ravi Shankar play with the Oregon Symphony (!!). Then the 13th we leave. Hopefully I can get a couple dance lessons with Julia worked in there somewhere too. Life is good - I really can't complain...
Thanks again for all the good wishes, you guys!! Hope you all are having a great end-of-summer bash. Love you!!!
