Aaahhh... Today's tarot card is:
The Queen of Cups! "A warm and loving woman. She has great emotional depth which she will gladly share with those in distress."
My beautiful bellydancer friend Julia is coming over this morning; we're going to go over my bellydance vinyl collection to see if there's something suitable that she can use for a routine that she's cooking up - very vampy 1920's Theda Bara style...
And ironically enough, since this is Journal Poetry Day, the poem I'm going to share was written by Julia, and is featured in the new edition of "The Tribal Bible". Oh - and a choli is a cropped, close-fitting short-sleeved top that ties in the back, worn by most Tribal bellydancers.
"The Sea of Choli" by Julia Dawn Sanasarian
By the beautiful sea
the fathomless sea
Won't you come
and dance with me
On the shores
of the sea of choli
Let freedom be your sister
taking you by the hand
and leading you through
her cool waves
lapping, licking and tickling
your sensuous being
Be your freedom
singing, laughing and
dancing her praises
Upon your breast
the light of the earth
bursts forth and from your limbs
The healing powers that be
extending into eternity
your life, your love, your being
Home,
at the shores
the wonderous shores
of the sea of choli.
