I applied for a job today!!!
First Unitarian is looking for part-time office help ("administrative assistant" ). This could very well be the perfect job for me - part-time is all I'm looking for, with school 'n all; I have oodles of office experience (16 years, count 'em); and I was a member of the Skagit UU Fellowship in Mt. Vernon before I moved to Portland, so I know a whole lot about Unitarian Universalism. Byron and I have attended several services at First Unitarian and loved it. I would be honored to work there! I mailed off my resume today, so we'll see what happens. Cross fingers and toes for me, won't you??
The pie turned out OK. Will probably make another one, and also more rhubarb cake (it's bread actually, but moist enough to qualify as a cake). When the weather cools down - back to exercising, I swear!!!
I think I'll be putting Oscar on the shelf for a while after this week; I've gone through almost all the quotes in the Tattooed Women book, and it's time for something new. I may start pulling a tarot card a day and reporting on that; I've been meaning to do that anyway. But for now, here's more Wilde (sorry Noize!!!):
What consoles one nowadays is not repentance, but pleasure. Repentance is quite out of date, and besides, if a woman really repents, she has to go to a bad dressmaker, otherwise no one believes in her.
