So today, I'm off early to annual training (AT). Instead of driving five and a half hours to the armory, I get to drive straight to Yakima Training Center. Only an hour, which is way better. Sadly, this means that I'm going to be off the internets for about three weeks. I think that thought is causing withdrawals.
My daughter keeps asking me why I have to go, and it seems that having a duty and responsibility to do so isn't coming across well. "It's my job," doesn't cut it either. I wish she didn't sound so sad when she asks.
I did break down and apply to an editing job at the 'Zon, hoping that when I get back in three weeks, I'll get an interview. I've been waiting for this "internship" ever since I crashed my first stateside editing interview, since it was recommended by the interviewer specifically to apply for.
I'm still holding out hope to make a run to France this year, I hope that I earn enough at AT to pay for a ticket after all the bills are paid. I have Fluenz French, but haven't been studying like I should since my schedule changed with the new role and the Advanced Leadership Course I had to complete as well.
It should be a relative easy AT, just long. I hope that the heat and dust doesn't wear me down like in the past.
Bonne chance
