Well, yesterday was exciting.
I volunteered for an Arizona Democrats event. I played parking monitor! Very classy. I got to hear the governor speak, I met about a hundred people or more, including some pretty funny members of the governor's security detail, and then I left to do the next fun thing...
...bridesmaid dress shopping for my roommate's wedding. Well, I'm actually the maid of honor. But I HATE dress shopping. I think if I ever get married, I'll just do it on the beach and wear a really nice pantsuit or something and roll the legs up. Ha. So we're there in the dress shop, which is one of those discount chain places, and there are about a thousand people trying on dresses, and no one looks happy. No one at all.
At night, the three of us (roommate, me, other friend/bridesmaid) started out at Kona Grill in Scottsdale. We had a couple of very overpriced drinks and then we went to Joe's Grotto to see Fred Green and Evolocity. Overall it was good times - Fred Green rocked, and although Evolocity's set got cut short, it was really a good performance musically. My roommate is apparently quite entranced with their manager, and our other friend was really drooling over the guitarist. Heh. What can you say - guys in bands. But the $2 drinks were not shabby at all. Woo.
We saw a lot of people dressed as pirates.
After that, we went to a Denny's that's close to my house and our server was that guy that was at the Breakroom a couple weeks ago. He was his usual non-charming weird self. And then we went home and crashed.
Good times. I wish I could have taken someone with me, but he got an opportunity to DJ a party last night for some decent funds. I'm supportive of that.
