last night i went to a friend's birthday party in scottsdale.
i really like people-watching. it's fun. well, a friend of mine dragged me up to the bar to talk to these guys that wanted to buy her a shot, and i got to hear all about their other roommate (we'll call him dave), who was off drinking and talking to random chicks. apparently he...

good afternoon-esque.
thedarkness:
Hello, how are we doing today on this fine Arizona afternoon?
j_stokes:
Thank you so much for the kind words!!!!
apparently this is self-mutilation week at our house.
almost burned the house down yesterday when i forgot about a bag of popcorn in the microwave.
then i tripped over something on the floor and gashed my left foot.
then this morning i stepped on something else and gashed my right foot.
not my finest weekend ever.

Sorry to hear about that.

How about that Tempe Town Lake? I hear the Salt is running? Crazy!
Headed back to Phoenix tonight.
I'm happy - it was a good trip - but I'm sad to leave here.

6 months will go by sooner then you can imagine!
I've been in Seattle (Tacoma area, actually) for a week now. The weather is great, we're having a good time, and I had an awesome New Year's Eve.
I almost don't want to come back to Phoenix.

Why not?

That is all that matters is your happiness.
Wow. I go away for a while, and I come back, and there's drama. And I'm not involved! (Seriously, folks, just trying to add some levity to the whole situation there.)
Eh.
I'm leaving for Seattle next week, and I can't wait. I wrapped his Christmas present this morning (in Chanukah paper, of course). It's sitting under the Chrismukkah tree in my living room with...

Saw Saved last night on DVD with friends. Someone thought it would be fun to drink every time someone in the movie said "Jesus". Needless to say, I got so drunk I was falling over.
Hahahah.

HA...HA!!!!!!! That movie was kinda funny, danks for the idea.... think I'll watch it again now.
nofi:
awesome. i love drinking games like that.
Saw Coheed and Cambria last night. It was interesting. Lots of 12-year-olds running around...so there wasn't a line for the bar.
It was really really hot inside the Marquee though. Lots of people, no air, and apparently no deodorant for the unwashed masses. Yecch.

I cleaned out my closet earlier (which really should have been done last weekend). I have 3 bags of clothes and shoes to be taken to donate.
Yay productivity.

Hey, it's the Mill Ave. pond. Cool.
I've been up since 6 this morning. Things have been really weird lately. Work issues, politics (of course), and now the ex-boyfriend issues.
Last night I realized what it is that I want in my life. And I think that he realized the same thing. He's 1,487 miles away but it felt like we were sitting in the same room. It's going to take a...

No, this is not a great day for democracy. In fact, it's just the opposite. There's nothing great about anything when half the country thinks that there's something wrong with its president. If you don't recognize that, then there's something wrong with your way of thinking. The country is very sharply divided and there's a chance that this rift won't be mended. Ever.

I'm particularly afraid of what Bush will do this term, since this time around, he doesn't have re-election to worry about. He doesn't have to impress as many people as he did last term, and he may just go nuts stuffing Washington full of his religious beliefs, warmongering habits, reckless spending, and bad grammar...

Im so close to finishing my bass that I can taste the wood. Course, the taste could be from all the sanding dust I inhaled yesterday.
