i really apologize for my tempestuous posts lately....i am jus so lost at sea emotionally that i am feeling the highs and lows more than i should be.
health-wise, i am jus waiting for the results of my biopsy. my doctor reassured me that the chances are incredibly slim and i'm probably jus fine, but even dealing with this shit freaks me out. i am a wimp
the past couple days have been great though. Saturday night i did a wedding reception serving gig and loved it waaay too much.
1) free food! truffles, sorbet, hors doerves (sp?) ,wedding cake, salad and the biggest, most succulent hunk of salmon i've ever had
2) coincidentally, i ended up working with a bunch of former co-worker friends, so i felt right at home. plus the management was friendly and helpful.
3) felt like i was a guest at the wedding. got to watch the weird entertainment (magician, russian dancers) and did The Twist with two obnoxiously cute lil' boys.
4) the actually working part was a cinch...so i will probably keep doin' events like this
yesterday for Father's Day, my sister and i took my dad to Pilates classwith us, alongside my man and his mama, who are freakin pros at that stuff. cute, huh? then we had a family outting to this tiny historical museum in Ventura. i usually love museums, but this one was pretty lame. the only good part was some fossils and a big taxidermied vulture. otherwise, they had things like ancient farm equipment rusting outside. There was a giant thing called a bean thresher that looked like a murder machine. very scary. they also had these creepy, extremely detailed historical figure dolls, of people like Napoleon, Marie Antoinette and Louis XIV. which was kinda interesting til an obviously drunken white trash lady and dude wandered in and started exclaiming "that's hot" about the figures. the museum had some dress up costumes forkids to play with. the lady proceeded to try them on and asked my dad if she looked hot.
