Back on track, Jack. Too legit to quit. Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.
Here, have some miscellanea:
Inception is one of the greatest films ever made. It was worth wading through formulaic sewage up to this point, waiting to experience something like this. I have a special strain of bile I've developed for the term 'too smart'.
All these post-apocalyptic stories out in the aether have one common thread: people just can't be trusted to do the right and decent thing. George Carlin once remarked that we are 'barely out of the jungle'. It's true. We're still too primal, too lazy, too scared. At the first sign of trouble we all know the vast majority of us will loot, rape, and murder their neighbors. It's why concepts like anarchy are just fluffy little dreams. It's also why we like the concept of the zombie so much. It's how we view each other-as mindless, shambling horrors that want to devour us brain first, because that's the part they despise the most. It feels good to subject them to cat-and-mouse cartoon executions-it's a bit of sick wish fulfillment.
I need a friend with a pool, particularly one who isn't getting married or having children.
I have just been introduced to the Melothria Scabra, or 'mouse melon', which looks like a tiny watermelon and tastes like a cucumber with a slightly sour finish. They're yummy.
I'm going to Pennsic soon with my friend Eric. Perhaps I'll bump into some of you there. We'll be wearing matching kilts, drinking absinthe from flasks, and singing songs by The Frogs. It will be a refreshing gulp of chaos that I'm very much looking forward to.

YAY!!! Good for you. So, I'm volunteering at a summer camp this year, don't ask why..... But in September the SCA is holding a small, four-day get-together at this camp. How cool. I hope you have fun. Staying all 17 days?
