I don't know how much truth is in it, but I heard a story of an American Marine who whilst on training, drank so much water that he died. Seemingly his salt levels dropped dangerously low, they thought he was dehydrated, and gave him more water and it killed him.
The moral to this story is that by thinking you are being healthy and drinking water, you could actually be killing yourself. Therefore it is in your best interests to drink alcohol.
