so, i have this friend, a really bright guy, right? thing is, he dropped out of school, got a dead end job, and all his friends graduated and moved away. he spends all his free time online, and we talk on AIM fairly often. thing is, he's scared to take chances, so he won't go after better jobs, never asks girls out, never tries to make contact with people. if i don't talk to him first, sometimes we don't talk for days, when we are both online. and i get frustrated because he tells me all the opportunities he's missed since the last time i talked to him, and of course i say "are you mad? GO FOR IT!' and he says,"but it's too late, that ad said showup before noon, and it's 10 now, and i don't really feel like going out, it's too cold, and i wouldn't know what to say anyway, cuz i hate talking to strangers."
and i get so frustrated talking to him. how do perfectly interesting people get this way?
