There's no other way for me to describe 2012 than as a kaleidoscope of triumphs tumbled along with slivers of pratfalls and false positives. It wasn't great, yet it wasn't terrible. Certainly didn't turn out as I expected, but what ever does in this world, right?
Will we, can we ever be satisfied with what's given to us?
Anyways, this will likely be my last blog of 2012 'cause fuck if I can find the time and energy to compose blogs regularly. So I hope y'all are safe and happy when we celebrate the end of the Gregorian calendar once more.
An unfortunate lesson 2012 taught me was some people are just as ugly as they appear. I'm not sure when it began, but I've noticed people within my generation are much more insular and contemptible when you don't fit into a certain category, inquire about their specific ideology or opinions, or worse yet are expected to act a specific way according to their assumptions.
I cannot stand that shit.
It won't even take me a New York minute to get rid of your ass.
It's likely due to hitting my "milestone" 30th birthday that I'm even more aware of the vehemence and pretentiousness that crushes my inspiration. How I long to encounter those of true substance! Who doesn't have it within them the desire to improve themselves? To try new creative outlets, to get out of their comfort zones and see what other avenues life has to offer? Apparently, far too many.
The circle of friends has gotten smaller and smaller over the years and it appears to be a trend that won't cease anytime soon.
There isn't really much to it.
Earn respect by giving respect.
Mean what you say and say what you mean.
Don't be afraid to venture forth.
Keep an open mind.
Stop being a dick.
C'est tout.

The slow-burning rage has once again become dormant ...for now.
Hahaha! I follow the industry enough that I really just want to check it out mostly. I'm more excited about getting out of town than anything else! And so freaking nervous about the Expo.
