Since I don't have to go to work until later this afternoon, I decided to go thru some pictures and post them here. Some old, some newer, yeah.. Whatever..
Anyway.. Looks like I'm going to Florida next week to deal with more family drama *rolls eyes* My Grandmother is 86 years old, and she recently was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia and congestive heart failure. According to the doctor, she now requires full-time in-home care, but she's refusing it.. I feel sorry for whoever get's that job because she's one tough old Sicilian! They thought she wasn't going to live through the week, but she proved everyone wrong. Anyway.. My job (being her favorite grandchild) is to convince her to move back to Chicago so we can take care of her.. This is NOT going to be easy, regardless of what my mother might think! I spoke to her yesterday, but could barely understand her as she was swearing at the nurse in Italian while I tried to talk to her.. The whole situation sucks, and it's really sad to see her in it. I remember when I was a kid, with all the shit going on at home I would go to her house to get away from it. She nearly had my dad arrested twice for beating the hell out of me, and refused to take me home until he was out of the house for good. She's always looked after her family, so I figure the least we can do is make her as comfortable as possible.
Anyway.. I think I'm leaving next Friday, and staying for about a week while we get everything straightened out. When I get back I'll be up to my eyeballs in work..
