Late night working on some things for the internet cooperative. My lab seems unusually somber, perhaps because of the lights that have decided to stop working.
I layed in a bunch of wood today as we are expecting more snow tomorrow. I am glad of the moisture it brings, it means our pond will be filled by the local springs come April.
I finally have put some pictures on this site. Its a bit of an effort, so more will be slow in coming.
I think I will retire for the day, drink some wine and read some poetry from Petőfi Sndor. He is mostly known for his flamingly nationalist stuff, but he wrote a few really beautiful, deeply human poems.

I recall the spring thaw in Big Springs when I first made a connection to the source of the name. That year the winter began in anger late November and I never saw the bare dirt until early June. The Big Springs road was "littered" with springs that popped up every few yards. That was the year the city decided it was necessary to replace the remaining bamboo water lines with something a bit more reliable. Ah...Nederland.
