There were about 50 elk in the big meadow today. I have lived here 9 years now, and still they strike me as some of the most magnificant creatures I have ever seen.
Its windy and cold. We are in my least favorite part of the year, very dry, cold, and often windy. Once the big, moist storms show up and start dumping mondo snow, I will once again wear a weather smile.
Looks like I am heading to Darwin, Australia in about seven days to help on the TWP-ICE experiments. It will be a huge change, 90 degrees and 90% humidity. Thirty eight hours of travel time Denver->LAX->Brisbane->Darwin. Still, I would not miss it for the world and am glad the lab invited me.
