valentines day:
valentines was a group effort and probably the best one i've ever had! scotty and i went out to brunch with our couple-friends julio and norma, vince and mimi.
MMMMM rudy's can't fail cafe.
hangovers were nearly debilitating for some members of our party... something to do with the scorpion bowls at kona club the night before(worth it since mimi is moving to la with vince).
anyway, we started our group date with brunch and then decided that it was the perfect day for a bike ride in alameda. which is was. sunday in the bay was bright, sunny and warm. it was lovely. so we all went to our apartment and got some bikes and mobbed over to the island and started out journey in the sun to another tiki bar filled with sweet drinks and lots of love and laughs. the drunk ride to dinner was hilarious with scotty falling off his bike and scraping his knee, julio almost getting hit by a car and norma playing rockabilly out of her iphone. we decided on mexican food and margaritas. by this time some people were a little tipsy and being hilarious in spanish. my spanish isn't great but i was catching a bit of what norma was hootin' and hollerin' about. after about a 2 hour dinner we decide that bike ride to the beach is mandatory and we all, as cheesy/adorable as it sounds, laid under stars with our lovers and watched the water and the city lights twinkle. it was humbling to be around so much love. honestly. i know i sound like a sappy hippie but being around my friends and my lover was exactly the right way to spend that little holiday.
i'm actually really proud of myself lately. i'm barely drinking at all. superbowl sunday and valentines day are the only times i've had a drink really since mid january and i feel fucking great.
oh, and my bf, who is the fucking jam, got me a custom mala he designed out of lapis lazuli, mother of pearl and black onyx. um... yeah, we're kinda crazy inlove.
what did you do on the greeting card holiday?

Sounds like you had a wonderful day! Great to hear it. I ended up relaxing with family & visiting a friend since she had to work.. My love couldn't make it to see me. But he's coming today which makes it even better! Enjoy the warm weather & bike rides!
