Eventful weekend, punctuated by six hours of Freaks and Geeks. So this is love.

Went to see bands play with a friend. Everything got weird because one of the guys playing is creepily obsessed with her, and was apparently wearing a ring that was supposed to symbolize his (unwanted) devotion. He was singing one song right up in her face, so she stared in the other direction, and he took his ring off and hurled it on the ground. Later he walked by our table at this diner that everyone went to afterward and plonked the ring down. It was all very fifties-teen-flick.

I began to get quite sentimental watching her deal with her admirer, because if things had worked out differently, I might have hypothetically gone out with her at some point. She was so obviously unhappy that I began to wonder what would have happened if we had hooked up ever, and if we could have made each other happy. I decided no. Then she and her ex reconciled in whispers in the car on the way home, and she was all beaming smiles, and I was glad everything worked out the way it did.
