I've been fighting a lot more in the SCA in the last couple weeks. Where I've found that a lot of my speed has gone away. Looking at how I've been lifting, I've put on some mass, and found I've slowed my muscles down. Doing further research into mass gain and the hypertrophy workouts. I haven't necessarily been gaining muscle fibers. Part of Hypertrophy is putting scar tissue in between muscle fibers as well. The movement of the lifts has also been slow in comparison to my prior lifting technique. Which has retrained my muscles from a fast twitch glycolytic to a more constant muscle engagement lifting technique.
Long story short, I'm switching gears in my lifting style again. Being able to fight quick and be highly mobile compared to my opponents was giving me an edge, and it's an edge I want back. Besides I can through in a 3 month routine every now and then for some mass gain when I plateau otherwise.
Outside of that there isn't anything new.

(obviously?) I don't have the physicality for overly physical activities (let alone lifting), but I've known a few wrestlers, boxers, etc. in my life.
