Having no responsibilities is great, but sometimes it's hard to tell people no when you have shit you need to get done. I've been seeing a lot of people I didn't see during the school year, but socializing can get exhausting, and if I go too long without getting any work done I feel very restless and uneasy.
I'm training Willow. He knows sit and is getting the hang of stay. He's still obnoxious when out and about, but I guess all puppies take awhile to get past that.
There are some fuckers my friend Meghan used to live with who have two puppies that they do not take care of. We went by their apartment this weekend to pick up some stuff that Meghan had left, and the living room was literally in shambles. The puppies had destroyed the sofa, the pillows, everything was strewn around in a mess. There were piles of shit on the rug that looked like they had been there for days. Meghan said she had gone earlier and it looked exactly the same. These are huge puppies, sheperd/rott/bloodhound mix -- only four months old and taller than my knee. Meghan has one of their brothers so I know how they're supposed to look, and these babies are way too thin. You can easily see their ribs, and they have absolutely no training. It breaks my heart, they're sweet, gorgeous dogs. I'm thinking of calling the Animal Shelter and seeing if they can do anything.
