I'm back. I got back from LA at 8 o'clock this morning, then I slept till about three. LA was nice but polluted and very consumeristic. I could see if I moved there it would be very tempting to fall into that lifestyle. They package it all so appealingly.

We stayed with my friend Maegan and went around for awhile with young folks in "the industry." We went to a young Hollywood party and I told everyone I was Madonna's nanny. Maegan was a wonderful host and treated us for a lot. After that, we saw my friend George for a few hours before flying home.

I bought a pair of jeans, some expensive makeup, food, and drinks, and am really not out as much money as I feared. I liked it and had a great time, but I don't think I could live there, and I definitely don't think I could be "in the business."

While we were in LA, I thought, God, when I'm here, I can't believe that home exists. When I'm home, I can't believe LA exists. After we slept, my brother made us eggs and told me about quantum mechanics. I've been thinking about it since.

How do you reconcile science and religion, or do you? Sometimes I believe them both, sometimes I think I believe one or the other. Sometimes I'm not sure if I believe anything.

I don't consider religion worth reconciling. I grew up with it. Been there, done that, spent years trying to figure it out. Decided it was a means of control, nothing more. Modern religion (christianity at least) has lost everything meaningful at this point. I'll put my money on science. EL SUICIDO LOCO

science seems more based on 'fact', at least fact as well as use hu-mans can know what is factual. religion is based on belief and let's face it, it's pretty friggen hard to change a person's beliefs, espcially about the supernatural and god and so forth.
it's hard to believe anything at times.
