Hello, beautiful people of SG!
Been a bit busy and let you hanging without any of my blogs, but fear not! For this blog I chose... Craziest thing I've even done! So get comfy and let's roll!
First of all... I'm a really impulsive person and takes me effort to think before to do anything, so I've done a lot of crazy stuff but I think me moving to London gets the price. I planned visiting London for Christmas and New Year's, so I could meet my partner of that time, see a new place and get away from my stressful job back in Spain.
After two days of my whole week of holidays, we went to Camden and made friends with one of the bartenders in a pub. Talking of nothing, I did say I could think of me living in London and how could that would be, when he offered me to speak with the manager as they were hiring at that time. After speaking with me manager, I did accept the job and cancel my ticket back to Spain straight away.
It was a mess. Had to call my job back home, quit, explain everything to my mother that was pretty upset but, still, not surprised. She knew how much of a pain I could be but she dared me (Dared! Can't emphasized this enough) to survive in London for two months with my little hand luggage clothes. She said it was a lesson.
I moved into the squat, so I didn't need a massive luggage either, would be difficult to move when the eviction arrived, so it was even better. I started working in the pub insane shifts and was sleep depraved for months, but I managed somehow.
It's been five years since then and, thanks to that crazy idea, I'm able to work on my passion instead of an awful hateful job and meet amazing people that opened my wings. Also, did some crazy unplanned trips to Sweden, Amsterdam and Budapest during my time here so... CHALLENGED SUCCEEDED
