New journal to commemorate having the internet at home now! Heavens, I can freely surf the boards and look at naught bits again.
Had a Drama department orientation and party yesterday. I made loads of new friends... My favourites being two stage managers. Ha - I don't mess around when making friends.
A lot of the other departments seemed pretty segregated at the party, but I floated freely with everyone... so many wonderful people! I even met a guy who drives a hearse (a la Harold & Maude) and who met Johnny Cash when he was 12! Plans for cult movie nights as well as a revival of my Skanky Saturdays are in the works.
I didn't even get tipsy and fresh with my profs. Bravo.
Am afraid I might not make it to the Fluffgirl burlesque show;with class until 9.30pm that night, then at 8 am the next morning, I'd miss most of the show and feel sick all the next day from lack of sleep. I called them the other day and the girls are going on promtly at 9.30... Just when I'd be walking around at the Uni. I seem to miss these gals - first Victoria, now here. Bugger. Am keeping my fingers crossed, just in case...
Had a drawing class this morning (slightly hungover, but still able to smile); it was great. I love my prof (he designed a show at RDC last year... Dry British humour always makes me laugh. Today he was impuning my honour (calling me debauched and making up funny stories) - but that means he likes me. Can't wait to do the same to him.
So that means two drawing classes and lots of artsiness pour moi. My sketchbook is to be my bible (formerly Oscar Wilde's complete works) and I will be drawing every day. I didn't ever take art in highschool, so it's a novelty still.
Tonight, I'm off swing dancing with a group I joined at the Uni. Wonder if I could get away wearing vintage?... That's the only problem with Lindy hoppers; most of the refuse to dress up. When I dance, I want to wear a swooshy skirt (or men's breeches) - stuff that moves well. And good shoes, no runners. Then again, I am a costumer and now self-professed "art fag".
Speaking of which, I was telling some of the gay boys in the drama department which bars to go to in town! Two and a half weeks and I've got the place scoped out - and am already queen of the fag hags.
Well, a nap is sounding might fabulous right now. I'm also exhausted from carrying my bloody Art History book (or brick! It was 200$ - I think it weighs the same as its price!) across campus. Hopefully I can use it as a coffee table later on in life... Or I could prop up coffee tables with it.
