Last night was the airplane museum's hangar dance. They clear out the hangar, hire a big band and serve booze and cute lil sammiches. My friends and I have been going for five years now; ever since we started swing dancing. Last night was great, especially since we won't be dancing together for a while (Naomi is off to Bristol and I'm going back to Alberta). I got all dolled up in a dress I made from a vintage Vogue pattern.... There were loads of pictures taken, and I'll be sure to post some. I'm all about documenting my looking glamorous posing next to old airplanes.
My weekend is Wed/Thurs, and I'm already looking forward to it. The store isn't very busy at the moment, Olympics and all. It's alright, though - leaves me lots of time to prance around the kids' section doing inventory and singing at the top of my lungs.
YAWG visited yesterday, which is always a highlight chez Cinemastar.
Tom comes on Saturday, and after a weekend of partying (and the SGVic get-together), we will empart on our great Canadian roadtrip to Edmonton. Plans of writing a Kerouac-esque novel were also discussed, but I think there will mostly be lots of singing to music in the car.
I also still have to get my Mum's pants made (the ones I've been putting off all summer) and get some stuff back from Shiwanna Millionaire. Not to mention another kidnapping mission and seeing all my pals before leaving...
Have a faboo week, everyone!
(edited to say I was ripped off by a drag queen I thought was my friend... So were a lot of people at Prism. It makes me feel really crappy, because I really liked her. Even more fodder for trust issues... Doesn't mean I still won't trust people, though - I may be cynical, but I still love people.)
