Curiouser and curiouser...
The past two days have been strange. Tuesday a friend and I went job hunting (read- bumming around drinking coffee downtown whilst making a sad attempt to hand out resumes).
Since I haven't been getting many shifts at the video store, I figured I could round it out with more part time work.
But it turns out that now I may very well get a job at the Entertainer - two video store jobs at once. Hmm.
(I did also manage to buy two Marilyn Monroe flicks and the Faerie Tale theatre version of Pinnochio, starring Paul Reubens for the low price of three dollars. Yay me.)
Yesterday, Mum's friend and I went shopping... And she surprised me - lots. She bought chocolate massage oil, took me out for martinis/seafood (a few of my favourite things) and then we had our photos taken as saloon girls.
(It's one of those cheesy tourist attraction things - sepia toned goodness. I got to hold a gun and lounge on a bar - good enough for me!).
She even went on to let me dress her up - in my wigs, etc... It's amazing what a corset, some lipstick and a platinium blonde wig can do for a girl's self esteem.
(The best part was that she asked me to do these things - I didn't have to force her along, like I do with bringing people to karaoke...)
I think we understand eachother better now - and she's on her way to becoming a badder girl!
Hurrah.
And now I'm off to hand out more resumes - this time to costume shops. I'd love a discount on wigs and magic tricks....
