So I was offered a new job today that I'd have to relocate to accept. Which is fine because I have friends in the area that need a roommate.
I have not received the official detailed offer sheet on the job. But the base pay is about a 20% pay cut from what I make now. The area is a lower cost so that will cover some of the difference. The GM said that there were incentives and bonuses that would appear on the offer sheet to get me closer to what I feel my services are worth.
I'm excited to have a new opportunity and be able to move somewhere new. But I wonder who's getting the better end of the deal. The company is new and I have 10 years in the industry. I know I'd be an asset, but I don't want to get overused or carry the company on my shoulder.
An associate of mine says he has alot of connections in the area I'm looking to move to. He suggested I apply to a few other places that also could use me, are more established, who may be able to pay more or offer a better schedule.
