I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day.
I got to see my aunt and uncle, who I hadn't seen in about ten years. My uncle Sam invited me to move down to Florida to attend Culinary school. My mother had mentioned to them my love of cooking and my want to relocate to Georgia, because they have grilling weather 9 monthes out of the year. Sam said he only wears pants 4 weeks a year.
I woke up this morning and realized, I don't want to be here! I hate my house, my job is underpaying me and taking advantage of my recent hardships, and all of my friends and family have left the area, except my mother and I. I haven't been outside of the D.C. metro area for more than a month since the 80's.
I'll have to update my resume, but I need a change. Hopefully by Mid-June I can start applying for jobs in other cities.
So far I have a couple offers of places to crash , while looking for new residence.
1. My buddy and his fiancee need a roommate in RVA, but I haven't found any jobs thusfar.
2. My sister said I can move near her in Raleigh, but I don't want to if I don't have to.
3. My aunt invited me to the "Northern Neck" of Virginia, which is actually in the southeast part of the state. But the only jobs down there are Fishing, which I don't do.
4. My uncle invited my mother and I to come down to Florida, where they can help with my mother and I can go to school. But I'd have to find a job.
5. And then my mother wants to move back to Asheville, NC or Savannah, GA so we can have some BBQ. Where I'd have to find a job, house and Assisted Living facility before moving.
6. My cousin invited me to crash at his house in Maine. It's F***ing cold in Maine, but I have family and friend's all over the state. Don't know about the job market though.
If anyone has any insight, please pass it along.
