It's a short one today. I found some free Andrew Loomis art books in pdf format I wanted to share. I have always wanted to draw this way, but I found his shape based approach to be super methodical and well, boring, so I gave up. I'm going to give these lessons a second try, wish me luck. I have some new brushes, some black...

Carmina Burana is one of my favorites. I have seen it done locally a few times. Greatness! I hope it turns out wonderfully. Thanks for sharing the video too! love
quakerninja:
omg!! That was the most epic Carmina Burana I have ever seen 150 opera chorus people and the bodyvox dance group. It was stunning.

Todays show is Primus woot.
The only thing I don't like is being the camera nazi, sorry peeps.
Ironic because I like crapy youtube videos of live events like this one.

It will be in the beautiful Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall (Schnitz for short) in downtown Portland.
Seating Capacity 2,776, built in 1928

This view is from the park entrance of the main lobby orchestra...

Was gone Friday - Monday for a family reunion just outside Walla Walla Wa. My Aunt has the coolest house ever, and the drive though the Columbia River gorge is epic. It was a great time had by all. Plus they had dogs which are always fun. smile

Today I am 31 years old. My oh my. How sad is it that I bought myself a birthday present this year. sigh

Happy Birthday! smile Totally cool that you share the day with your dad. You were his present. That should mean something pretty significant. I share the same birthday as my boyfriends younger sister. We are stoked about that. Our birthday is 10-10-10 this year. That has to be a sign of good luck. At least we are both convinced of that. She will be 18, so it will be a big deal regardless. I hope you enjoy your day. Don't worry about buying your own present. At least that way you got what you really wanted, right? LMAO! I hope all is well!
doobs:
Wow your bd is on the Mexican Independence shocked awesome, happy belated birthday to you and your dad and its not sad at all, I will probably spend my bd alone and on the streets hehehe, i promise to cause a little riot at least and have some fun though tongue biggrin

So you think you can't draw huh. Fine then let's cheat by tracing, heres' how.
It sounds less cheater'ly to think of this as ghetto prink making.

You will need some paper, or card stock if you want to get fancy, tracing paper, and a pencil, or woodless graphite pencils if you want to get fancy again.

Find and print a photo, something simple with...

Today's show is Burn The Floor. I've see broadway dancing, ballet and some cool modern stuff, but I'm not that familiar with competitive ballroom dances, should be interesting. It's one of the things I like best about my job, I've always liked both performing arts and visual art's, but I choose the fine art route when I went to college because it was something...

Ok Thought I would share a quick technique for coloring in adobe illustrator, this works in cs4, and cs5.
(There is a work around for later versions but I didn't cover it here.)

There are three basic methods for coloring art in illustrator that I use.
1.Paint under the linework on a sperate layer.
2.Paintbucket tool
3.Use the pathfinder/ merge button to cut a solid...

My website was one of the last things I showed my brother before he died, updating it just now makes me feel sad because he won't get to see it. #sad I was feeling fine just a while ago wtf. This sucks.
I really miss my brother right now.

Dude, I can say this. It gets better with time.

My grandfather passed away 15 years ago. And it's still hard for me to eat hershey kisses and watch stuff about Nasa and rockets and such.

If you ever wanna talk about it I'm here for you.kiss

I was scheduled to work Margaret Cho tomorrow but I got cut, because it wasn't selling so good, oh well.
I got my schedule for next month and I'll be working a Primus concert on the 22nd so that's awesome.

At the risk of sounding like a sandwich board, I could still use some help.

I have gone all in for the Design by Humans...

It's one of my dreams to someday support myself with artwork. The way I do that now is tee shirt contest, freelance, print on demand posters, online sales, day job money and crowd funding

Today I will be introducing crowd funding starter links and tee shirt design tips for online contest.

Part 1. I wanted to share some crowd funding links first. This is a...

Nice way to look at things. Expressing things with emotion can be art. Even with the case of my poetry book. I guess that too can be considered art. As for my list, I too have the most trouble with number 10. All of them are going to be difficult. I think it is going to be a work in progress....Oh and yeah. Happy Friday the 13th. *evil grin* skull
