Wuhuu, what a hard day at work!! I opened my emails this morning and saw an alert that red bull big wave africa competition was on (it is only on when the swell gets big enough, not every year)..so there was only one option for our office today; Shut down computers, take coffee flask and camera and head to Hout Bay:
The view from the top of the hill down to the spot where all the action was
Some massive waves!! 12'-15' with occasional bigger sets coming in..sorry my camera zoom is not the best..just for the clarification: the little dots are the surfers!
The guy in the middle of the pic (the white spot) got seriously hammered by this one:
Inspired by the sun, the waves and the action headed to a beach later on for a surf. The waves were not that big luckily and we had a nice sunset after surf:
Been a brilliant day, now I should start working a bit since I have to prepare for the weekend. Going sailing with 14 kids from Saturday morning to Sunday evening. yay..I hope the swell dies down a bit or otherwise we have 14 sea sick kids, most of them have never sailed before so we might not wanna have that on their first time... I'm definately going for sea sickness tablets also, just in case...
