Feeling alive again, I think I had food poisoning or something yesterday
blah.
My lovely brother Yeoman has said I should update more often because he misses me. I really should. I havent been too active lately, mostly because I just havent been near a computer much or just been plain lazy...
But here's an update about my awesome 12 day trip to east coast of South Africa
First of all here's a map of the places where I've been to:
Coffee Bay was absolutely high light of the trip, such a beautiful area, great backpacker, lovely people, great weather and delicious food. All you can hope from your holiday. Every morning woke up to a sound of djembe drums or the gorgeous bartender(another great thing about this backbacker
) playing guitar, spend days surfing/hiking/horseback riding/relaxing/spotting dolphins and evenings playing djembe and silly games with the staff and other guests and having good conversations with interesting people from all over the world.
I left travelling alone but met a Canadian and a French girl at the backpacker in Coffee Bay and we decided to travel together for some days which was great fun, especially the surf lessons we took together. Also met a uber hot German surfer in Coffee Bay who is gonna move to Cape Town in the end of this month. I of course kindly promised to show him around and help him to find accommodation etc
Last weekend was a long weekend off for almost everyone here in SA so my flatmates joined me for travelling for a while and we went to Jeffreys Bay, Addo Elephant Park and to Arniston together. Jeffreys Bay I had a hottest day of the holiday with temperature being up to +30c, did some shopping at Billabong factory shop, bumbed into the Uber hot German again ( I met him in three different places during my trip
, this is clearly destiny or something
) and relaxed on the beach. And proved that my hot new bikini I bought from J'Bay is not exactly wave prove
Addo Elephant park was also great, spend whole day spying and spotting wildlife..but to my disappointment did not see any lions or rhinos. But heaps of elephants standing just next to our car which was bit scary at timesthey are huge!! Also saw lot of zebras, kudus, turtles and Timons and Bumbas (you know the animals from lion king).
I wish I could return to Coffee Bay during my time here but seems bit unreal since my travelling money is really running out and also my time here, only 2 months left
I seriously might think of that visa extension again.
Here are some pictures from the travels...
Sunset at Coffee Bay beach. The beach was just next to the backpackers and water was so much warmer than her ein CT, went swimming every day
Coffee Bay area. The backpacker was surrounded by the xhosa village where I also went horse back riding and to a village tour which proved to be very interesting..visited local Shebeen( xhosa bar) and tasted their beer made of sweetcorn. The beer was drank from 5litres plastic buckets with chickens and little pigs running around the shedeen all the time
Sangoma, traditional xhosa doctor we also visited during the village tour
School kids from the village. Ended up giving lift to about 20 kids on the bakkie/pick up, I really wonder that the whole car did not break down with all the kids jumping and singing in the back
Bomvu backpackers, on left there's the bar (pity I got no photo of that gorgeous bartender who by the way looked quite a lot like saintadatha)and on the right the entrance of our room. The setting was like in a jungle. brilliant place.
Addo Elephant Park!!
Zebras in Addo
Huge Turtles in Addo
The elphant here looks like a size of that bus
Stunning sunset in Addo Elephant Park
Ah, I wanna have a holiday again
and meet that hot surfer
he is uberschlauzer.
And the sunny holiday brought my freckles back!
Although I doubt they are visible in this picture..
