I am trying to figure out how to balance all of the different aspects of my life in a harmonious fashion. We'll see how that goes.
Is it really okay for me to watch porn and smoke pot and then go to church on Sunday? I know it is, and it can be, but I was raised Roman Catholic... so all of this is hard for me. I have to think about why things are considered bad and what the stigma is, and I have to decide if I agree with that. I certainly don't think pot is evil. No worse than drinking. And the legal aspect of it doesn't feel any worse to me than driving 70mph in a 60mph zone.
The new church I am checking out says that we're all accepted as sinners and no one is expected to be perfect except for Jesus. They also seem to focus less on what goes on in people's personal life and more on helping the community. They have a lot of outreach and volunteer programs AND they are a church specifically directed towards people in their 20s and 30s. I'm really excited to go on Sunday.
