In general, I think it is impossible for men to understand women, and women to understand men. I am speaking, obviously, in terms of the sexes as a whole. It is extremely possible that an individual man and woman can nurture and eventually obtain a very clear understanding of each other, how else would there be marriages or other long-term relationships? I also think that men and women really are not meant to understand each other, as the rift between the sexes has a very primal foundation. Men are incapable of understanding how physical pleasure can be derived from having something thrust into oneself, and women likewise cannot fathom deriving pleasure from doing the thrusting. This basic disconnect does not come without reason. If men and women could truly grasp the others' most primal instincts and feelings then sex (and thus reproduction) would lose a lot of its carnal allure. If a man could get by with a woman's pleasures and a woman get by with a man's, what would be the need to fuck?

I am, of course, speaking only of hederosexuality. Homosexuality is something I am incapable of understanding, but that does not mean I wish to malign or demean homosexuality in any way. Whatever gets you from one day to the next is cool by me.
