Hey ya’ll!
I don’t know about you guys but these last two months really flew off the calendar! I can’t believe it’s the holidays already. Life’s been busy. I finally started taking some leave/vacation trips. Took the family a few hours away to the Izu Peninsula for some fall colors and onsen (Japanese hot springs). We spent two nights at an old style Japanese hotel by the ocean that delivered traditional dinner/breakfast to our room. It was perfect, we ate lots of fish! We had some amazing views of Mt Fuji on the way up and that first day. Izu is very countryside so I got to drive up this super sketchy single lane, windy mountain road getting to our hotel. I enjoyed it more than I should have. It was getting dark so headlights gave away the handful of cars going the other way. Here’s a few shots from our trip.
The bamboo hotel wasn’t ours, I just loved it. I got some great shots in the bamboo park there of the kiddo and my wife. There was a large circular bamboo bench in the middle that he was running around on having too much fun.
We took the Kiddo out trick or treating for the first time and had a lot of fun. He usually doesn’t like hats but he liked the fire helmet.
These two pics are from the Japanese Bansai Garden in Showa Park. It’s hiding behind me in the pic below in the trees.
The pics below are from my bases first Yokotacon! I didn’t take a lot of pics but it was pretty awesome! I got to meet Rica Matsumoto the voice actress of Ash from Pokemon, Yaya Han a mega Japanese Cosplayer and listen to a panel from Dan Payne and Olivia Hack. It was epically more awesome than I expected. There was a Japanese squad of the Avengers and one of the star wars guys looked like a double of Mark Hamil from the last star wars movie.
I was really happy getting a photo with Chewbacca sadly I couldn’t convince him to copilot my fire truck 🤣
I also thoroughly enjoyed the Seahawks vs 49’ers game with my fam, that game was nuts!!! So glad we won in overtime, can’t wait to watch it again in the playoffs!
We have another family trip coming up in a few weeks. Going to Hirishima! Have a safe and fun holidays out there!
