Hey boys and girls!
It's been a wild and busy week and my days off haven't been as much off as I was hoping this week. Tuesday I found out we had a surprise dorm inspection the next day, so I 'inspection' cleaned my damn apartment to near perfection. Except the blinds in my windows, fuck the blinds, I dusted the bastards. I'll take a ding for not spraying and wiping each individual one, I have a lot and they where strangely sticky ><. Next day, inspection cancelled, so I super cleaned all afternoon and a bit in the morning and was paranoid for nothing. My place feels somewhat foreign now to boot. Then today was change of command x 2, which ate up all my morning and first half the afternoon. Plus side I really like getting to know my commanders by face and hearing them talk. It's a lot easier to put your faith and trust in someone you have a face for on confidence in. We had some great commanders here for my squadron and group, we got some even better ones and real top notch guys. So that's encouraging, means we might be a bit extra busy too but it's kinda slow out here at times. Down side, it really sucks being in your blues and standing at attention to do so. Then getting volunteered to do it again, such is life.
I also found out my adopted family that made me feel at home while stationed in GA is getting divorced = \ I see a lot of divorce being in the military, lots of naive, unprepared, stupid young people in love. It's a shame and I hate to see it, especially when kids are involved. These two though, I didn't see it coming, definition of being blind sided. Gunna take a minute to process. I did have a good chat with my adopted mom, hopefully I'll catch the other side soon. They're both really great people so I'm rather disheartened by the news. I don't think divorce is ever really a good answer, though sometimes the only solution. A partnership takes both sides supporting each other, if it's all on one it ain't gunna work.
So despite all that business I do have some fun things to share. I'm pretty wiped from the day and jiujitsu tonight, which I skipped to clean the day before. So it was really good to go. I'm still playing catch up with ya'll though. I got a full plate. Things have been fantastical since the fourth. I had a great night out last friday kicking it with everyone. Got to know the jiujitsu crowd a bit better, had lots of booze, did a body shot off a dancer, and had a really fun night out dancing. I haven't done that in awhile so it was really great! Over the long weekend I had lots of relaxing time with my new engine crew getting settled in. We also had breakfast both days. I made bacon and eggs for everyone one day and then we all chipped in the next shift and did pancakes, sausage, and scrambled eggs. It was very good, no ghost stories to speak of yet.
steak, best 4th of July meal ever!
I rocked some red, white, and blue instead of my usual wrist thingy
couldn't resist the opportunity, the ears wheren't my idea ><
Awesome Bon Jovi tribute band from New Jersey came and played for us, Slippery When Wet. Great bunch of guys and it was a little wet, but fuck rain we 4th of Julied and fireworked anyway hahahahaa = )
Me and the girlfriend had a kick ass outing. The weather decided to be awesome so we went hiking up a Mount Takao, I think lol, saw a bunch of monkeys halfway up, and then a small picnic I'd made at the top. Afterwards we went to a really fun trick art museum, which we may have to do again. I got lots of pictures from there. It was a great day and we just cooled our feet afterwards.
at the top!
my favorite piece, the mirror room! Two identical rooms with a gap where a mirror would be, kinda throws ya when you walk in and you have no reflection. I was like, vampire!!!
the Egyptian sunset room, the places you can go before lunch lol
ancient tree over 400 years old, epic!
we cheated halfway up and down this time so we didn't lose too much sunlight for the museum, I thought this sign was a little unnecessary though
pretty wild eh = )
oh no I'm *yawn* gunna die = X lol blooper = )
whale licking, it'll change your life
fuck physics!
There's a huge typhoon headed this way and will hit my area early this morning. It's pretty worn down by this point but there will be tons of rain and some high winds, so work may be a bit busy.
I'm kinda wiped so that's about all I got. Here's a bunch more pics of random fun stuff that's happened, and food!, that I've missed since returning from Aus.
Racquetball with the gf, that was lots of fun. She looks really extra fantastic in yoga pants = )
shift breakfast, fuck maple I'm an adult lol = D
pepsi, it's ninja!
duck and her goslings!
had this awesome meal and the gf is showing off some Aus opal earings I brought back for her, she loves them = )
I made this awesome chicken Alfredo meal for shift dinner. It turned out great, I kinda winged it heh. It also made a massive amount of food for dirt cheap.
leftover Alfredo that the gf made for me, I'd eaten all the chicken so I sprinkled on bacon bits instead. mmmmmmm
And that does it for me, shower time! <3 ya'll! Stay safe out there and have an awesome end of the week and weekend = )
