Hey Ya'll
So I've been a very busy bee in the past week! Despite all that I most certainly did not forget my awesome mom, I put this up for her and all the rest of ya'll out there we all need awesome moms and love ya'll very much. I had a nice long video skype with mine first thing that morning her time, I was worried I'd miss her but thankfully didn't. I'm very excited to see them again next month at my little bros wedding! I had the best week ever, taking leave in combo with my day off gave me practically the whole week off. I had some catch up to do though so it wasn't all fun but sleeping in every day was great!
Rewinding a bit, I started going to Jiujitsu last week with the other guys I work with. I kinda wanted to get back in shape a bit first not that I'm terribly out of shape but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and take certain things pretty seriously, sports related things especially. But my assistant chief at work pointed out it's going to be different muscle groups anyway and the sooner I start the better. I've now been to three classes and it gives me something to do to kill my week and keep me busy. So far I'm liking it quite a bit and am happily banged up. I wrestled in Jr High and a bit in high school so that's helped a fair bit but also conflicts a bit. Trying to choke people out is slightly more serious (and seriously more fun) than just pinning someone on their back. Needless to say I've been learning quite a bit and did pretty decently tonight, I'm learning the defense basics and not getting tied in knots by folks. I've got a general idea of what I'm trying to do to get and get out of someone's guard. Only tapped to one of the veteran guys and got another guy to tap, though I outweighed him by quite a bit so I don't quite count it, but I'm feeling pretty good about practice today. I don't have any pics yet and probably won't til I get my own gi, for now I'm using the loaner lol. I'm pretty worn out after today too, I met up with a few of the guys earlier today and we played raquet ball for about 2 hours and sweat like monsters it was awesome! Been awhile since I've done that so I'm looking forward to more of both! After all of it though I'm pretty beat and ready to crash, but I kinda started my laundry and threw in my towel so I can't shower til it's dry...oops lol = X
We went for more sushi after my first night at Jiujitsu, and I went for the bigger Natto this time. I really tasted it this time and it's definitely on the bleh side, the girlfriend said it's not the best there though so she'll make the good kind for me, fingers crossed hahaha.
I topped it off with the ever delicious crepe cake, this stuff is to die for and there's only one way to eat it, forks be damned! = )
I had an excellent weekend with the girlfriend, was planning on chilling and taking it easy. But it was a really beautiful and sunny day outside so we just had to go play! So I whipped up a surprise picnic and we went suburban hiking up to this nearby park I've never been to and wanted to check out. Turned out to be a good sized hill with an awesome little picnic table at the top. It was funny too, I brought my camera but only took a few photos. The gf totally out did me on her phone, I may have to get her a camera of her own lol. I didn't make anything fancy, just peanut butter croissants with honey, apples, hard apple cider (was hoping for angry orchards but I can only get it at Chilis), and what's left of the brownies I made the week before. There was an awesome tree hangin out that just wanted to be climbed so we didn't turn it down.

The rest of the day was an adventure into a Japanese dollar store to get things for the Curry she was makin me for dinner, which was pretty kewl. As well as a supermarket, which was very crowded. I also saw green tea EVERYTHING lol to include ice cream, it was pretty kewl. I was slightly too distracted to take pics, so next time = ) Dinner was super awesome and we finished the evening watching Star Wars episode 1! Two more to go = )
Other things of note this past week. I annihilated this little bastard that snuck into my place and ambushed me out of one of my moving boxes right by my computer. I hate cockroaches! So I squished em flat for trespassing...and cut off its head just to be sure >= ) Warning, a roach was put out of action so if you're about to eat probably best not to click. lol

And got to play in a green man suit at work for a full on hazmat exercise we did. It was the full nine yards, we even got to play with real people instead of dummies, decon and all hahaha. It was very busy and went for a good long while, they are pretty intensive that way. We kicked ass though so we got to go down after cleaning everything up and putting it out to dry, it was a good day.
It's basically a giant sweat suit, there was an additional victim unaccounted for so I got to go in with another guy, find him and haul him out on a stretcher. We had a really sweet wheeled thingy for the stretcher so hauling him out was not as bad is it would have been. My face shield was super fogged up though and kept having to wipe it from inside, wtb windshield wiper! lol
I got tired of waiting on the release of Diablo III expansion for xbox and got it for my computer. Rawr, so I'm looking forward to getting into that again!

@bronx_ has a new set Sanctuary out with lots of fun in the sun and playing at the beach in the waves! I've been so busy I still need to check this one out properly myself! High on the to do list! = X
@saria put out a really kick ass blog and pic spam of all the awesome things that where going down at the Portugal shootfest.
@pebblezink put up a little video of some kangaroos she ran into!
@skunchsquirrel also did a video for the advice homework which is short and sweet! Always kewl to see = )
@riae 's latest blog has some really epicly awesome photos in it, they will blow your mind!
Lastly the postcard @flowerbomb sent me finally arrived and there was much rejoicing, I was beginning to think the mail had eaten it, but it did have to go from Korea to New York then back to me, cause that's just how it works lol.
I've been a busy bee so I've been having a hard time keeping up with everything, ya'll have a fantastical rest of the week and weekend! I know I will = D
