Sales trainers always have the best little syings to try and motivate you like, "plan your work, and work your plan", "Write your own ticket", "Make hay, while the sun shines", ya know crap like that. I know those phrases aren't only relegated by sales people, but jesus, they know'em all. It seems like every month for the past three months we have been doing some kind of stupid training where they just teach you the same shit you learned before. They over exagerate everything, then expect you not to exagerate anything. "God we must have been in twenty neigborhoods yesterday with new construction, this place is a gold mine", uh, yeah we were in like maybe 5 neigborhoods, 2 of which had new contruction. I am just so sick of it. I refuse to turn into the people in the Nellie McKay song "Respectable". My managers are cool as hell, but I am just sick of the big fish stories of the sales trainers. You can see the gears turning in their heads when they bulk the numbers up and such to make the stories more impressive. "Say Steve, how many did we do down in florida?" "Uh about 50 a month", "That's right Steve, about 70 a month". I know most salesmen are full of shit, but c'mon.
