so this is an amusing entry for all of you faithful readers... i am the son of a wonderful technologically inept 3rd grade teacher. And as you can guess school is coming to an end as it is early june, so therefore report cards are due soon so my mother asked me to type up her report card comments for her. So i agreed and she left me with 5 comments to write about some of her class. Anyway i wrote one on her computer and realized that it was pretty funny so i might as well share it with all you folk. so im finishing the last four here then sending them to her... you should find some of these comments at least a little humorous.
(p.s. you dont have to read them all just notice how they are all so similar. And dont worry i changed the kids names to be PC and nice.)
Jack is completing third grade on a strong note. He is making fine progress on most areas of the curriculum. Jack's reading skills are outstanding. He is a varacious reader who clearly understands what he reads on many levels. He also takes on challenging material. However the one area in which jack struggles is written comprehension. It is difficult for him to express himself fluently in writing. It still tends to be a laborous task for him. This also has a significant effect on his ability to respond in writing to reading comprehension questions.
Jack's math skills are strong. He clearly has been studying his math facts and is participating more frequently in class.
I have no doubt that Jack will read extensively this summer. I would encourage him to keep a journal not only about what he has read but also a personal journal. Perhaps this could be an electronic journal - on the computer. Jack's serious attitude towards school, his fun personality and delightful sense of humor always brighten the day. It has been a pleasure to watch Jack grow as a person and a student this
year.
Jamie is completing third grade on a wonderfully strong note. He ismaking fine progress in all areas of the curriculum. His previously strong skills are now consistantly outstanding. He clearly understands what he reads on many levels. His written responses to reading comprehension reflect his ability to support his answers with details and nuances from the story. I have no doubt that Jamie will read quite a bit this summer. I've been in Bar Harbor for a year now. Stayed the winter here which sucked! I work at Geddy's Pub as a line cook. Last summer I worked at Rupununi's though. They recently reopened the trails where the falcons were, but they may have to close them again.
