I have had Vista since 9 this morning. It's been installed and working since 11. For the last 4 hours I've been downloading and installing drivers and Windows updates, and I've already decided I fucking hate Vista. Actually, I knew that after I spent an hour wrestling with the internet connection (which ended up not really Windows fault, but I'm going to blame it anyway because if I hadn't had to reinstall Windows, there wouldn't have been a problem).
The biggest problem I'm having now is that the one thing about this machine I was most proud of - my 20% overclock of the CPU - does not work under Vista. Any time I try to disable Cool n Quiet and raise the ACC (AMD's tool to help with the overclocking) I get a blue screen. I haven't seen a blue screen on my PC in many, many years. XP may not have been great, but it was (relatively) stable.
I imagine I will spend the rest of the night tinkering with things to see if I can get any speed boosts out of this machine now. Not a bad way to spend a night a suppose. i've certainly done worse.
