I know that it's not a party if it happens every night. Pretending there's glamour and candelabra while you're drinking by candle light. What does it take to get a drink in this place? - The Postal Service
My PC died when I got home from dialysis on Saturday. I was too tired to deal with it then, and decided on a much simpler course of action - I fell asleep for 12 hours. When I got up the PC still wouldn't work. No compufairies snuck in through the window and fixed things. It appears the hard drive is quite utterly and completely dead. BIOS doesn't even recognize it anymore, and since I only have one there is no longer a boot drive.
Are you nerded out yet? Well I'll assume not, and not test your patience anymore. Short version - computer no worky. And I'm sad. I'm back to using this 5 year old Gateway laptop, which was barely acceptable when I bought it, and is now barely able to browse the web without crashing. I am a sad sad geek.
But there were some bright spots over the last few days. Sony recently made Final Fantasy VII available for download on PS3 systems. So I have nostalgic RPG glory to relive. I had money saved up from my Everquest 2 business which I had been planning to put towards a new laptop. However that money has now bought me a new hard disk and a brand new copy of Windows. So in a few days, when they get here from Newegg, my PC will up and running again. Also this hard disk is a retail boxed disk, so it has a 3 year warranty. If it bricks on me I'll get to torture another poor customer service rep.

toothpickmoe:
I bought FFVII a while back and played it on my PS2. Still awesome.

Funny, I've built all but one of the boxes I've owned, using mostly parts scored on the cheap from camputer shows, and I've yet to have any single piece of hardware fail.
